1. Excellence in Science and Technology : SUNU GAAL places the highest standards of science, data, and technology at the core of every operation, to drive productivity and quality. From genetic selection and incubation systems to processing automation, we rely on precision engineering and the latest equipment used by the worldās leading poultry industries.
2. Industrial Discipline : We operate with the rigour and reliability of a modern manufacturing complex. Every breeder house, hatchery, and processing unit follows strict biosecurity, quality control and production efficiency standards.
3. Empowerment through Industrialisation: Our growth is measured not only in output but in impact: the number of young Senegalese trained, employed, and inspired to enter the agro-industrial sector. We see industrialisation as a tool for empowerment, creating a new generation of skilled technicians, engineers, and agri-entrepreneurs.
4. Sustainability & Responsibility: Our operations are designed to respect the environment, optimise resource use, and promote circular agricultural practices. We invest in clean energy systems, water recycling and waste valorisation to ensure long-term ecological balance.
5. Partnership and Shared Prosperity: SUNU GAAL believes transformation cannot be achieved in isolation, but through collective effort. We partner with local poultry farmers, research institutions, development agencies, and private investors to build an ecosystem of innovation and shared value, beneficial to all stakeholders.
šøš³ OUR STRUCTURE
1- Breeder Division: The Foundation of Poultry Sovereignty
At the core of SUNU GAALās operations lies the Breeder Division, a high-performance genetic base designed to supply Senegal and West Africa with top-tier parent stock. Using world-class breeding technologies and imported lines from leading global suppliers, this division ensures the production of fertile eggs with unmatched biosecurity, traceability, and genetic consistency. Our breeder farms are engineered for industrial precision, equipped with automated systems that optimise nutrition, climate, and productivity.
2- Hatchery Division: Industrial-Scale Hatchery Excellence
SUNU GAALās state-of-the-art hatchery transforms fertile eggs into strong, uniform day-old chicks (DOC) through the latest generation of incubation systems used by leading poultry nations such as Brazil and the USA. With full digital monitoring and climate control, the hatchery ensures maximum hatchability, chick vitality, and disease prevention. The integration between the breeder and hatchery divisions eliminates dependence on imports and secures a continuous national supply chain.
3- Ovoproduct Division: Pioneering Senegalās First Egg-Processing Industry
Through its Ovoproducts Division, SUNU GAAL will establish Senegalās first industrial-scale facility for processing eggs into liquid and powdered forms, products used in bakeries, food manufacturing, and hospitality sectors. This innovation will capture a market currently worth over $3 million annually in imports, providing industries with reliable, hygienic, and locally produced ingredients while positioning SUNU GAAL as a technological first-mover in West African egg transformation.
4- Future Phases: Toward a Fully Integrated Poultry Value Chain
SUNU GAALās long-term vision extends beyond production inputs. The next phases include developing integrated broiler and layer farms, meat and egg processing plants, and a retail network of branded outlets. Together, these components will complete the national poultry ecosystem, from genetics and incubation to transformation and distribution, making SUNU GAAL a true agro-industrial powerhouse for Senegal and the region.
šøš³ Our Economic & Social Impact
1- Replacing Imports and Building Industrial Sovereignty
By 2021, Senegal imported the equivalent of 98.6 million fertilised eggs valued at ā£15.7 billion FCFA (ā $28 millio. At current growth rates, 2025 imports are projected to exceed 120 million units, reaching ā£20 billion FCFA (ā $35 million) ā a dependency that drains national resources and limits self-sufficiency. SUNU GAAL Agro-Industrial Complex directly addresses this challenge by producing high-quality breeder stock and hatchery output domestically, replacing costly imports and retaining national value. The same applies to processed egg products: Senegal currently imports over $3 million in liquid and powdered eggs each year ā a market SUNU GAAL will fully capture through its ovoproducts division.
2- Empowering Communities through Jobs, Skills, and Inclusion
SUNU GAALās integrated model is designed for social transformation as much as for economic impact. The complex will generate hundreds of direct jobs in breeder and hatchery operations and thousands of indirect jobs across feed supply, logistics, maintenance, and sales. Targeted training programmes will focus on youth and women, equipping a new generation of skilled technicians, biosecurity specialists, and agro-industrial workers. Each operational phase will serve as a living laboratory for technology transfer, combining industrial discipline with inclusive growth.
3- Strengthening Senegalās Economy and Regional Leadership
By substituting over ā£20 billion FCFA (ā $35 million) in annual imports and creating a competitive base for ECOWAS exports, SUNU GAAL will improve Senegalās trade balance while positioning the country as a regional hub for poultry genetics and industrial incubation. The project will anchor rural industrialisation, enhance national food security, and reinforce Senegalās role as a science-driven agricultural leader in West Africa ā transforming dependency into sustainable, sovereign production capacity.
