Ending Senegal’s fertile egg import dependancy.
Sovereignty through Science & Sustainability
🇸🇳National Market Snapshot : untapped opportunity worth over $35 million per year
Proven and Accelerating Demand
Senegal’s poultry value chain faces a structural gap at its foundation: the national shortage of high-quality fertilised eggs. Despite growing demand, more than two-thirds of the country’s needs are still met by imports from Brazil and Morocco: costing the nation billions every year.
Between 2016 and 2019, Senegal imported an average of 37 million fertilised eggs per year worth ₣9.42 billion ($17 million), while producing only 13.7 million eggs locally.
By 2021, imports of fertilised eggs reached the equivalent of 98.6 million units valued at ₣15.7 billion FCFA ($28 million) — a 42% rise over 2018 (FAO 2021).
At current growth rates, 2025 imports are projected to exceed 120 million equivalent eggs worth ₣20 billion FCFA ($35 million), underscoring a deep and growing dependency on foreign supply. In less than a decade, Senegal’s import bill for fertilised eggs has more than doubled, highlighting a strategic opportunity now exceeding ₣20 billion FCFA (US $35 million) annually.

🇸🇳SUNU GAAL’s solution
Science, Scale, Precision
SUNU GAAL Agro-Industrial Complex is ending Senegal’s dependence on imported fertile eggs through science-driven poultry genetics and industrial-scale hatchery innovation. At the heart of our model are high-performance breeder flocks developed from world-class genetic lines: the same proven parent-stock systems used by the poultry powerhouses of the USA and Brazil. Our state-of-the-art breeder facilities are engineered through turnkey projects led by globally recognised suppliers, ensuring climate-controlled precision, optimal bio-security, and consistent productivity across every flock.
Through a network of automated hatcheries capable of producing up to one million day-old chicks per day, SUNU GAAL brings to West Africa the latest generation of incubation and hatching technology: digital monitoring, smart temperature regulation, and industrial robotics for egg handling and chick transfer. This fusion of science, technology, and scale transforms poultry production from small-scale farming into a strategic national industry, securing food sovereignty and eliminating the multi-million-dollar annual deficit in fertilised egg imports.
🇸🇳 OUR CORE FOCUS
1️⃣ Breeder Farm
Parent stock sourced from elite global genetics, optimised for both meat and egg lines. Our facilities ensure biosecurity, genetic integrity, and high hatchability performance.
2️⃣ Hatchery
Equipped with top-tier incubation and hatching systems, DAKLON guarantees the production of premium Day-Old Chicks (DOC) for the national and West African markets, reducing import reliance and strengthening local farming.
3️⃣ Liquid & Powdered Eggs
Senegal currently imports over US $3 million in processed egg products annually. DAKLON will pioneer this missing agro-industrial segment, producing liquid and powdered eggs for bakeries, restaurants, and food manufacturers.
